“Every time you spend money you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.”
—Anna Lappe
Camelot Christmas was a joyful success this year, welcoming nearly 400 kids, parents, and volunteers who joined together to make the event meaningful. Families were able to choose gifts with dignity, kids enjoyed crafts and activities, and the entire event reflected the deep partnership between Sunset Ridge and Camelot Elementary.
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts, contributed financially, or volunteered your time. Your generosity made this celebration possible and ensured that every family who walked through the doors felt supported and cared for. We are grateful for the many ways you helped bring joy to our Camelot community this Christmas.
The Sunset Ridge Farmers Market is still proudly hosting our Bulk Pantry Food Markets & Donation Drive!
We’re continuing our monthly effort to provide sustainable, nutritious, and zero-waste pantry staples to families in our community. Donations to our Bulk Dried Food Fund help us purchase rice, beans, oats, masa, salt, and sugar in bulk so we can stretch every dollar and feed more neighbors.
Each family receives neatly packaged pantry essentials—along with simple cooking instructions and fresh produce donated by our wonderful market vendors. These care packages are distributed every Saturday at a local affordable housing complex.
💛 You can even adopt a family—just $1 a day helps provide a full meal.
Thank you for helping us ensure every neighbor has access to good, nourishing food. Together, we’re making a real difference.
Holiday Night Markets in Charis Park
Sarah Clavieres, Manager, Sunset Ridge Farmers Market
When life feels impossibly full—when the calendar is stacked, the to-dos blur together, and it seems there’s no room left for anything else—one of the simplest ways to breathe again is to step outside and walk. Just walk. Feel the brisk air on your cheeks, smile at the people you pass, let your lungs fill and release, and notice how each step coaxes your heartbeat, your endorphins, and your sense of connection gently back to life. And if you’re wondering where such a walk might lead on a winter evening, Charis Park is waiting for you.
Everything living there invites your presence—quiet or loud (my children certainly choose the loud route)—and holds space for you to arrive exactly as you are. And on Friday evenings over the next two weeks, as the Holiday Night Market begins to glow, the park transforms into something even more magical. I imagine vendors who care deeply about their craft and the impact they leave behind, offering goods that are good for people and good for the planet. I see hands wrapped around warm holiday drinks, children buzzing with excitement, strings of lights swaying gently, and musicians playing nostalgic classics that tug at memory and heart.
As I wander the path, I shop knowing my dollars stay close to home, supporting someone’s dream rather than feeding corporate excess. I love that my appreciation for the earth—and for all She gives us daily—can be reflected in how I participate in this season of giving. It brings ease and joy to see sustainable practices honored, zero-waste efforts woven into every booth, and local makers offering gifts with stories worth unwrapping.
The park sparkles. The poinsettias in front of the church burst in bright, joyful red. I snap a few photos and take a deep breath, grateful to live within walking distance of something free, fulfilling, and full of heart—something that feeds me even if I buy nothing at all.
This holiday season, take the walk. Let Charis Park welcome you home to wonder.
We hope to have you join us Friday, December 12th and 19th, from 5–9pm.
