  • Jess Lowry

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Jess brings her gifting in both ministry and leadership to her role as Executive Director at Sunset Ridge. She earned a Masters of Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and has served Sunset Ridge Church for 10 years. Prior to that she spent 10 years in business leadership and management. Jess has a calling to point each person to the belovedness that they carry, and a heart for eye-to-eye conversations over a good cup of coffee. She spends her time with her husband Nathan, who plays guitar in our worship band, and her three children Luca, Julian, and Shiloh—who are each her favorite. When not on campus she can be found adventuring, hosting dance parties, attending Pearl Jam concerts, or with her nose in a book.

  • Taylor Bates

    DEPUTY DIRECTOR

    Taylor brings her creativity and over 15 years of nonprofit experience to helping implement the vision for the Sunset Ridge Collective. She grew up at Sunset Ridge Church and is thrilled to be a part of shaping it for future generations. She has a master’s degree in Art Education from The University of Texas at Austin and has worked in various nonprofit spaces creating community and bringing new ideas to life. She was previously the Director of Programs & Exhibitions at Artpace San Antonio. Taylor is a proud mama of two children and is married to Hunter who is the Worship Leader and keyboard player for the 11 AM worship service for Sunset Ridge Church.

  • Nancy Campos

    HOSPITALITY & ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

    Nancy has lived in San Antonio since 2013. She has a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Secondary Education. Prior to working at Sunset Ridge, she has worked as a math teacher and an insurance adjuster. Nancy loves singing, playing guitar, drinking coffee, spending time in nature, and being with family and friends. She also enjoys being a member of the Worship Band. In her spare time, you can find her playing Mario Kart with her husband and twin boys or relaxing on her back porch swing.

  • Caroline Clausel

    OPERATIONS & EVENTS COORDINATOR
    Caroline serves as the Operations and Events Coordinator at Sunset Ridge, where she brings a wealth of experience in both organizational leadership and compassionate care. Before stepping into her role on staff, Caroline was a part of the Sunset Ridge community, first connecting when the parking lot was being rezoned for Charis Park.

    With over 30 years in Minnesota before returning to San Antonio a decade ago with her husband, Caroline’s background spans both the corporate and education sectors. She’s worked as VP of Human Resources for USBank Mortgage and as a Junior High Autism Specialist. She holds a BS in Business Administration (Finance), a Master’s in Special Education, and a Specialist degree with licensures in K–12 Special Education, K–12 Principalship, and Special Education Directorship.

    Caroline’s heart is for creating spaces of belonging and ease—whether that’s planning a meaningful event or helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. Outside of work, she loves being outdoors, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and solving puzzles of all kinds.

  • Sarah Clavieres

    MANAGER, SUNSET RIDGE FARMERS MARKET

    Sarah feels called to her role because she is passionate about implementing sustainable systems that nurture both people and the planet.

    With a background in education and agriculture, Sarah has traveled widely to teach ESL—eventually founding her own school and program in Thailand that integrated a nature-based ESL curriculum. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word, and her work continually reflects a deep love for creativity, learning, and human connection.

    As co-owner of Talking Tree Farm in Schertz, Texas, Sarah focuses on youth education and drought-tolerant heirloom seed saving to promote resilience and biodiversity in local food systems. She holds a deep respect for farmers and ranchers, whose connection to the land and food is truly irreplaceable.

    In her current position as Community Ecology Manager at Sunset Ridge, Sarah feels she has found her dream job—working in service of others, collaborating on solutions to critical environmental issues, and taking tangible action to restore ecological health. Through this work and through partnerships with the Friends of Charis Park, the Sunset Ridge Farmers Market, and Vocationary Work, she strives to foster human connection to nature, strengthen local food access, and regenerate soils and ecosystems so that future generations may enjoy clean air, water, biodiversity, and the beauty of God’s creation.

    Outside of work, Sarah is a single mother to two energetic and creative children who keep her inspired and grounded. She expresses her creativity through art—whether on canvas, curating the market, or designing and tending gardens. Sarah feels closest to God when surrounded by the living world, a constant reminder of God’s grace and abundance.

  • Amy Lynn Johnson

    COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

    Amy brings her passion for community building and over 15 years in marketing experience to her role as Communications Manager at Sunset Ridge. She has a B.A. in English and enjoys finding creative ways to reach people online with the ultimate goal of connecting with them offline and in person. She is a mother to four kids, including two sons in the Army. In addition to these roles, she finds life in creating paper clay art with reclaimed materials, road trips to West Texas, and curling up with the newspaper. 

  • Che Ortiz

    Che Ortiz

    PROGRAM MANAGER, ONE ANOTHER COFFEE

    Che is passionate about creating meaningful spaces through coffee—using community, creativity, and care as tools to serve others and spark connection.


    With a background in Digital Marketing and Liberal Arts, Che has spent years working as an independent consultant for café operations. That experience shaped a deep understanding of both the heart and logistics behind running purpose-driven coffee spaces.


    At One Another Coffee, Che manages business operations and growth—from leading the barista team to handcrafting syrups, curating food options, and developing sustainable practices that reflect our values. She also coordinates events with local charities, blending community outreach with the joy of hospitality. She loves seeing how coffee becomes a bridge for people to feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.


    Outside of work, Che is a devoted thrifter who runs a small shop centered on sustainable fashion. She loves K-pop, karaoke nights with friends, and studying Korean—with hopes to visit Korea soon. Her black truck is a trusted sidekick on all adventures.


    Che feels deeply drawn to the heart of Sunset Ridge because it represents a sacred calling—an alignment of purpose, community, and stewardship. Here, she gets to blend business with intention and help reimagine how we care for the earth and one another.
