“Each of us must rededicate ourselves to serving the common good. We are a community. Our individual fates are linked; our futures intertwined; and if we act in that knowledge and in that spirit together, as the Bible says: ‘We can move mountains.’”

—Jimmy Carter

WHAT’S GOOD

Sprouts School Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch Recap

Over the weekend, Charis Park was buzzing with life. Sprouts School hosted their Fall Festival fundraiser where families got to enjoy hands-on nature-related crafts and activities, live music, a bouncy house, basket raffle, and the cutest little mini pumpkin patch. Take a peek at all the fun that was had here. All proceeds raised will help keep Sprouts School accessible and affordable for young explorers—thank you to everyone who came out and spent their Halloween with us!

Two Years of Charis Park

Taylor Bates, Deputy Director, Sunset Ridge Collective

Can you believe Charis Park is two years old?! Our beautiful neighborhood park opened in October of 2024 and ever since then we’ve seen the community around it flourish in so many ways.

Why did Sunset Ridge Church decide to transform its old, underutilized one-acre parking lot into a neighborhood park? In a world where loneliness is rampant, we wanted to create a space that inspired genuine connection. Not only human connection, but connection with the beauty of nature.

We’ve seen these connections continue to grow at Charis Park. Through the creation of the regenerative farmers market led by community members. Through the ways the park’s native plants and trees are lovingly tended to by the community. Through the relationships that are cultivated between neighbors on a regular basis.

We created Friends of Charis Park about a year ago in response to requests from the community to support the care of the park. We were so humbled by the response and are so appreciative that many of you have given your time and money to help maintain this community space.

To celebrate the generosity, relationships, and shared commitment that make this beautiful community space possible, we are hosting an intimate farm-to-table dinner at Charis Park this Saturday, November 7th from 4:30 - 6:30 PM.

The evening will feature a thoughtfully prepared dinner by Chef Ted of Viridian, a curated honey tasting, and stories of the wonderful things happening at Charis Park because of your support. Wine from Whisper Cellars will be available for purchase during the evening and Nancy Campos will accompany us with live music as the sun is setting.

Please join us—you can attend by RSVPing here. Tickets are $100 per person, and new and existing Friends of Charis Park members can purchase tickets at a discounted rate. Proceeds will support the costs of maintaining this nonprofit space.

We look forward to toasting to this beloved community space, Charis Park, with you!
